Our story

More Than 125 Years of History

From its earliest days to the present, Friendship Lodge has remained an important part of Wilmington's civic and community life.

  1. 1901

    Friendship Lodge is instituted

    September 16, 1901, traditionally recorded as A.L. 5901.

  2. Early 1900s

    A distinctive new hall

    The original building featured four prominent corner turrets.

  3. Mid-century

    The building evolves

    The rear turrets were removed during later renovations.

  4. Today

    A Wilmington landmark

    The lodge remains one of the town's most recognizable historic buildings.

An Active Part of Wilmington

Friendship Lodge is more than a historic building. Throughout the year, the lodge brings people together through community events, charitable programs, scholarships, and local service projects.

Car shows, open houses, gatherings, and other public events help neighbors connect with the lodge and one another.

The Hospital Equipment Loan Program and Ramp Program provide practical help to people throughout the area.
